Kaela MacDougall and
Megan Stairs (pictured left to right above) have been named captains of the 2026 Muhlenberg women's soccer team.
The most experienced player on the roster, Dias enters her senior campaign leading all active Mules in career games played (53) and started (47). She is in her second year as a center back after recording 13 points as a forward in her first two seasons. Last year, Dias was the only Mule to play every minute of every game, anchoring a defense that recorded three shutouts in 10 Centennial Conference games.
Cheeseman has played in all 36 games since coming to Muhlenberg, starting all but two as an outside back. She scored goals against Swarthmore as a freshman and against Gettysburg as a sophomore, adding a pair of assists last year. Â
MacDougall has seen consistent playing time as a center midfielder throughout her career. She battled injuries to appear in 31 of Muhlenberg's 36 games the last two seasons, starting 25 of them, and was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll in both 2024 and 2025.
Stairs is in her second season as a team captain. She had an outstanding year as the Mules' top goalie in 2024, starting 16 games and leading the CC by a wide margin with 160 saves. Stairs reached double figures in saves nine times and ranked 14th in Division III in saves per game as a sophomore but had her junior season curtailed by injury after only five games.
Muhlenberg enjoyed a
preseason trip to soccer-rich Argentina and is scheduled to open its season at Stockton on Tuesday, September 1, before returning to Jeff Morris '82 Field for its home opener against 2025 MAC Commonwealth finalist Stevenson on Friday, September 4.
