The Centennial Conference Track and Field Championships kicked off with the Muhlenberg women notching a pair of eighth-place finishes.
Junior
Maggie Holderith (pictured above left) came in eighth in the 10,000 meters, completing the 25-lap race in 39:27.93. In the first 10K of her career, she became only the fifth Mule ever to break 40 minutes and the first since 2018 to place in the event at the CC Championships.
Sophomore
Kelly Stephen placed eighth in the hammer, earning the point that eluded her at the CC indoor meet, when she qualified for the finals but came in ninth in both the shot put and weight throw.
Stephen's fellow hammer throwers, freshman
Sophia Xenakis and sophomore
Caitlyn D'Addieco, both set personal bests.
For the men's team, sophomore
CJ Mersky achieved a personal best in the hammer, while freshman
Matthew Bertolino just missed placing, coming in ninth.
Freshman
Charlie Vanecek (pictured above right) ended the first half of the decathlon in third place with 2766 points. Of the seven competitors in the two-day event, he came in first in the long jump and second in the high jump.
