In their final tuneup for next weekend's Centennial Conference Championships, the Muhlenberg track and field teams competed in the chilly, rainy weather at Lehigh's Covert Classic.
In spite of the conditions, several Mules put up noteworthy performances.
• Senior
Avery McNulty finished third in the javelin with a throw of 120-9, improving her personal best by more than 7 feet. She moved from seventh place to fourth place on the program's all-time performance list. There has been only one mark better in the Centennial Conference this season.
• Less than 24 hours after contributing to a
win at the historic Penn Relays, junior
Christopher Short placed second (first among collegiate runners) in the 100 meters. His time of 10.99 seconds is good for eighth on the Mules' all-time performance list and ranks fourth on the CC performance list. Junior
Isaac Schaffer-Neitz came in fifth in the same event.
