Muhlenberg track and field standout
Maya Richwine has been named Centennial Conference women's track athlete of the week after excelling in the hurdles at Bucknell's Bison Challenge & Multi over the weekend.
First, the junior put up a 9.00 in the preliminaries for the 60-meter hurdles, earning her a spot in the finals alongside exclusively Division I and II competitors. In the finals, she clocked in at 8.98, good for fourth place and a tie for the top 60-meter hurdles time in the conference this season. That 8.98 is tied for the 21st best mark in Division III this season.
This is Richwine's second career player of the week nod after earning the same honor nearly a year ago as of posting (February 11, 2025). It is also the third straight week in which a Muhlenberg athlete has won a weekly conference honor; Sean McNeil earned men's track athlete of the week last week and Peter Stanton-Shepherd won men's basketball athlete of the week two weeks ago.
Richwine will look to continue her 60-meter dominance at the Fastrack National Invite this Friday, February 6.
