60 minutes wasn't enough to determine a winner on Wednesday evening, as the Muhlenberg Mules fell 2-1 in the extra period to the visiting Bryn Mawr Owls in a hard-fought Centennial Conference contest.
Jocelyn Morgan got the Mules on the board first with her team-high seventh goal of the season courtesy of a feed from fellow junior
Ava Rahn. On the play, Rahn drove the ball upfield along the baseline, right by the side of the net. She then passed it back to her waiting teammate, who promptly deposited it into the net for the 1-0 advantage midway through the first period. It was the first assist of Rahn's career, but not her first career point, as she scored a goal at Gettysburg during her freshman season.
The Owls answered back a few minutes before halftime and could have had more throughout the game if not for the play in net by
Brenna Fitzpatrick. The sophomore netminder made seven saves on nine shots on net. A few of those were especially key, coming on Owl breakaways or redirections off of deflections and second-chance opportunities.
