The Muhlenberg field hockey team kept it close throughout but dropped a Centennial Conference game at Haverford, 1-0.
The Fords (5-5, 1-1), who were nationally ranked in the Division III preseason poll, scored the lone goal on a penalty stroke early in the second quarter. Muhlenberg had a chance to take the lead early in that period, taking three shots in quick succession, but they were all saved.
Sophomore
Brenna Fitzpatrick (pictured above) held the margin at one goal by making 11 saves, including seven in the third quarter, when the Mules (2-7, 0-2) defended nine penalty corners.
