Muhlenberg sophomores
Maya Richwine and
Maxwell Broadbent broke school records at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Championships.
Richwine
(pictured above) finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.37, shattering the old mark of 14.65 that was set in 2013. Her clocking ranks sixth on the all-time Centennial Conference list.Â
Richwine, whose previous best was 14.70, has contributed to five school records this year. Indoors, she broke the standards in the 200 meters and 60-meter hurdles, and outdoors, she ran on the record-setting 4x100-meter relay team in addition to setting records on her own in the 100 meters and now the 100-meter hurdles.
Broadbent placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 46-9½, jumping past freshman
Sean McNeil, who set the record of 46-7¼ earlier this year. Broadbent soared past his previous best of 45-1½ on his second attempt.Â
Junior
Shira Gamson just missed placing in the triple jump for the women, finishing ninth by one centimeter behind the eighth-place jumper. Her mark of 36-11 was a personal best, just two inches short of the school record.Â
McNeil (long jump and triple jump), sophomore
Christopher Short (200 and 400), junior
Mike Powel (shot put) and sophomores
David Seel and
Raam Ravishankar (800) also represented Muhlenberg on the second day of the regional meet. Seel placed ninth and Ravishankar ran a personal best in the 800.
