Muhlenberg's 4x100 relay teams enjoyed great success at Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational.
The men's team of sophomoresÂ
Maxwell Broadbent,
Bryce Rhodeman,
Isaac Schaffer-Neitz, and
Christopher Short broke the school record, finishing in 41.61 seconds. All but Broadbent were on the team that set the old mark of 41.90 last year. The clocking is the best in the Centennial Conference this season.
The women's foursome - juniors
Shira Gamson,
Lauren Siesky, and
Niki Matthews, and sophomore
Maya Richwine - crossed the finish line in 49.76, narrowly missing the 20-year-old school record of 49.68.
Three Mule field athletes won their events at the large meet: Freshman
Sean McNeil was first in the triple jump, just a quarter-inch shy of his own school record. Graduate student
Noel House captured the javelin, and freshmanÂ
Caitlyn D'Addieco won the discus.
Gamson improved her personal best in the triple jump from 36-7 to 36-9¼, moving closer to the school record of 37-1. Freshman
Molly Curtis also improved her top mark in the triple, moving up to fifth on the performance list with a leap of 35-3.
Freshman
Ella Sarnitsky (9-6¼) and sophomore
Kaitlyn Legaspi (9-0¼) became the eighth and ninth members of the Muhlenberg women's team to clear 9 feet in the pole vault.
