Mulford Named to All-America Team

Muhlenberg senior goalkeeper Ben Mulford was selected to the Division III All-America fourth team by United Soccer Coaches.

Mulford is the first Mule to earn All-America honors since 2014 and only the second goalie in program history named to the United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-America team. The other was Hall-of-Famer Peter Bennett in 2006.

An All-Centennial Conference first-team and All-Region V second-team pick, Mulford ranked 15th in Division III with a 0.61 goals-against average, the best by a Muhlenberg goalie since 2010, and 16th in Division III with an .838 save percentage. He allowed more than one goal only twice in his 19 starts and recorded seven shutouts, finishing the season by allowing two goals in his last 10 games.

A four-year starter, Mulford ended his career with a 0.87 goals-against average, .789 save percentage, and 27 shutouts in 70 starts. Among Division III goalies active in 2025, he ranked third in career shutouts, fifth in minutes played, and 26th in both save percentage and goals-against average.

With Mulford in goal, Muhlenberg qualified for the CC playoffs four consecutive years, advancing to the final every season from 2022 to 2024. He was named CC tournament MVP in 2022 after leading the Mules to the title by making 20 saves without allowing a goal in three playoff games and adding two more saves on penalty kicks in the championship game shootout against Johns Hopkins.
