Three Earn All-Region in Men's Soccer

Three Muhlenberg players were named to the Division III All-Region V men's team by United Soccer Coaches.

Junior back Sam Roberts made the first team, senior goalkeeper Ben Mulford was selected to the second team, and sophomore forward Saleem Diakite earned a spot on the third team. It's the fourth straight season that the Mules have had multiple all-region honorees.

Roberts earned his third consecutive all-region nod after making the third team in 2023 and the second team last year. He is the first Muhlenberg player in 30 years - since Tim Averell from 1993 to 1995 - to appear on the all-region team three seasons in a row. He's also the first back to do so since Ian Williams from 1988 to 1990.

The Centennial Conference defensive player of the year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Roberts anchored a defense that allowed only five goals in nine CC games and ranked in the top 10 percent of Division III in fewest goals allowed. He also was an offensive threat with his long throws, leading the team with four assists.

Mulford returned to the all-region squad after making the third team as a sophomore in 2023. He is only the third goalie in program history to earn multiple all-region selections.

Mulford was second in the CC and 16th in Division III with an .838 save percentage. He also ranked 15th in Division III in goals-against average at 0.61, the best by a Muhlenberg goalie since 2010. Mulford finished his career with a 0.87 goals-against average, .789 save percentage, and 27 shutouts in his 70 starts.

Diakite landed on the all-region team for the first time. A two-time All-CC selection, he tied for the team lead with five goals. Diakite was named CC player of the week after scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes of a 4-2 win against Gettysburg.

Also of note, Rowan graduate student Evan Schlotterbeck was named to the All-Region IV second team. Schlotterbeck was a second-team all-region pick for the Mules as a senior last year before transferring to Rowan to use his final year of eligibility.

Muhlenberg finished the 2025 season with an 8-3-9 mark, setting a school record with a 16-game unbeaten streak. The Mules were ranked in the national top 25 during the season and advanced to the CC semifinals for the fourth year in a row.
