Muhlenberg sophomore
Ben Mulford was named Centennial Conference men's soccer defensive player of the week.
Mulford made six saves while allowing just one goal in 172 minutes in a 1-0-1 week for the Mules that included a 1-1 tie at Johns Hopkins in a rematch of last year's CC championship game. Mulford played the first 82 minutes of a 4-0 shutout of DeSales, stopping three shots. He also recorded three saves in the Hopkins game, including one reflex save on a point-blank shot to preserve the tie in the second half.
Last year's CC playoff MVP, Mulford has played all but eight minutes in goal for the 3-1-1 Mules this season and is second in the CC in both goals-against average (0.61) and save percentage (.786).
