A school-record, bronze-medal performance highlighted the first day of the Centennial Conference Championships for the Muhlenberg track and field teams.
Junior
Dylan DeMagistris recorded a mark of 50-10 in the weight throw, topping the Mule standard of 50-5½ that he set earlier this season. The record throw, in the first round of the finals, temporarily put DeMagistris in first place, but he was passed by two Ursinus throwers and had to settle for the bronze as his first career CC medal.
Also placing in field events for the Muhlenberg men were junior
John Panny, fourth in the triple jump, and senior
Jarred Ford, fifth in the pole vault. Panny hit the sand at 44-10¾, improving his personal best by 9 inches and moving from fourth to second on the program's all-time performance list. Ford
(pictured above) placed at the CC indoor meet for the third time in as many tries and achieved his highest career indoor finish.
The men, who were in fifth place after the first day, also scored points with a seventh-place finish in the DMR. Sophomore
JJ Ramirez-Rojas qualified for the final in the 60 meters.
The women scored their five points in the two relays. Pictured above, junior
Adrienne Ellison hands off to freshman
Erin Jackson for the third leg of the DMR.
Senior
Kayleigh Durning logged the second-best qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles.
