The Muhlenberg women's basketball team ran into an impressive Scranton team that is ranked eighth in the D3hoops.com preseason poll and fell in the Scotty Wood Tournament championship game, 77-55.

The Royals shot 61.1 percent from the field in the first half and took a 32-25 edge into the break.

Scranton (4-0) continued its offensive execution in the second half in clinching its third Scotty Wood title in eight years.

Seniors Leanna Tallamy and Nicole Pepe were named to the all-tournament team. Sophomore Caroline Barberi led the Mules (2-2) with nine points in the championship game, while senior Emily Lesher added seven.
