Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Mules Edged Out on Senior Day

The Muhlenberg women's basketball team fell just short against McDaniel, dropping a hotly contested game 53-52 to close out the 2025-26 campaign.

Boosted by the excitement of the Senior Day festivities, the Mules dominated the first 15 minutes of action. They held the Green Terror to just 4-of-24 (16.7%) from the field while themselves shooting 9-of-14 (64.3%) over that stretch en route to a 26-11 advantage. Sophomore Veronica Dawson was on fire, claiming responsibility for exactly half of those points.

The hosts' three seniors all made key contributions down the stretch despite the loss. Katie McGrath cashed in on three free throws to cut the deficit to just one at 50-49 with three minutes to go. On the next Green Terror possession, Mia Fitzgerald tallied back-to-back blocks to force a shot clock violation. From there, it was Avery McNulty's turn; the senior drained a 28-foot three with 2:09 remaining to give the Mules a two-point lead.

McGrath led all scorers with 17 points, while Dawson put up 15 points for the fourth time in the last six games. The sophomore finishes the season as the team's leading scorer at 12.2 points per game. McNulty paced the Mules with seven rebounds in this one, while Fitzgerald's two blocks were tops as well.

This marks the final game in the legendary career of Mules head coach Ron Rohn. He is the winningest coach in the 125+ year athletic history of Muhlenberg, regardless of sport, with a record of 437-203. Rohn won eight Centennial Conference championships (most of any coach in conference history), went to the NCAA Tournament nine times, and reached the tournament's "Sweet 16" twice.
