The Muhlenberg women's basketball program has added six new players to its roster for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign, head coach
Sadie Nelson announced Wednesday.
"We are excited to welcome these six outstanding student-athletes to Muhlenberg and our basketball family," Nelson said of the class. "Each of them brings unique strengths to our program, but what they share is a commitment to excellence, a love for the game, and a desire to be part of something bigger than themselves. Beyond their accomplishments as players, they are outstanding students and people who embody the qualities we look for in our program. We look forward to helping them grow as students, athletes, and leaders while contributing to the continued success of our program."
The six newcomers are Keira Dougherty, Angela Forese, Maura Jacob, Riley New, Bailee Wolfe, and Jordan Wolfe. It is a guard-laden group, with three listed as point guards (Dougherty, Jacob, and New) and two listed as combo guards (Forese and B. Wolfe). All six are freshmen from the Class of 2030.
They will help replace an important trio of seniors from last season:
Katie McGrath,
Avery McNulty, and
Mia Fitzgerald. That group started a combined 62 games (of a possible 75), and all three averaged more than 27 minutes per game to account for three of the top five spots on the team.

Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood

About Dougherty: A torn ACL prior to her junior season didn't stop Dougherty, as she led Crestwood to a District Two title and the PIAA Class 5A semifinals in her senior season. In that final campaign, she was named first-team all-conference for a third time, earned co-player of the year honors, and earned a second-team all-state nod from the PA Sportswriters. Despite playing only three seasons, Dougherty still totaled 1,025 points and over 200 steals in her career. The Mountain Top native was also a team captain and three-time first-team all-conference nod in soccer, where she recorded 143 career points (54 goals, 35 assists) and helped her school to a Wyoming Valley Conference Championship.
Why Muhlenberg?: "I chose Muhlenberg because Coach gave me a great opportunity to play basketball for her. It is also a great school in a great area with really good food."
