Two members of the Muhlenberg men's track and field team broke a longstanding school record in the 500 meters at Bucknell's Bison Challenge and Multi.
Junior
Christopher Short won the 500 with a time of 1:06.03, while classmate
David Seel came in third at 1:06.84. Both easily surpassed the previous mark of 1:07.98, which was set in 2001. Short
(pictured above left) now ranks in the top two on the Mules' all-time indoor lists in the 60, 200, 400, and 500, while Seel is in the top two in the 500, 800, and 100.
Short also placed fifth in the 200 with a season-best time of 22.48.
Other meet highlights for Muhlenberg:
• Sophomore
Sean McNeil, freshman
Kadon Harris, and junior
Jaden Snow finished 3-6-7 in the high jump, all clearing 6 feet. Entering the day, only one other high jumper in the Centennial Conference had jumped higher than 6 feet.
• Junior
Maya Richwine placed fourth in the hurdles, clocking in at 8.98 seconds to tie for the best mark in the CC this season. Richwine was the only Division III athlete to qualify for the final in a field of 28.
• Senior
Niki Matthews (pictured above right) ran the 60 meters in a personal-best 8.26 seconds to move into fifth place on the Mules' all-time performance list.
