The Muhlenberg women's wrestling team faced some tough competition at the Pennsylvania Collegiate State Championships and came away with three placewinners.

Freshman Sylvyn Parham came in second at 110, and classmates Gabrielle Roberts and Riley Lynch finished fifth at 138 and 145, respectively.

Parham wrestled only two matches, both against opponents from East Stroudsburg, and both ended with 10-0 technical falls. Her win in the first round was her 11th tech of the season, and in the final she lost to the sixth-ranked 110-pounder in the country.

Roberts went 4-2 to place in a tournament for the first time in her career. She began with a tech fall against a Lehigh wrestler and also recorded pins against the fifth seed (from Ursinus) and an East Stroudsburg opponent. The first loss for Roberts was to the 20th-ranked wrestler in the country.

Lynch (pictured above) also suffered her first loss to an opponent who is ranked 20th but rebounded to pin the fourth and fifth seeds, both from Alvernia, to earn a place for the first time in her career. Lynch also pinned her first opponent. 

Sophomores Ella Pomeranz and Kelsey Gelb each picked up one win at the tournament. Pomeranz trailed her opponent 8-2 at one point before coming back to take a 14-8 lead and then pin her in the first minute of the second period.
