Competing with a full squad for the first time this season, the Muhlenberg track and field teams put their talents on display at The Armory in New York City at the Ramapo Season Opener.

The top event for the Mules was the men's high jump, where sophomore
Sean McNeil and freshman
Kadon Harris finished fourth and seventh, respectively. McNeil
(pictured above left) cleared 6-4 to move into a tie for fifth place on the all-time performance list. He needed a third and final attempt to clear 6-2 and set a new indoor personal best, then made it over the bar at 6-4 (a regional-qualifying mark) on his second try. Harris shook off his first miss by jumping 6-2 to enter the performance list in a tie for seventh place.
Other highlights for the Mules:
• Freshman
Reese Davis ran the 60-meter hurdles in 8.98 seconds, becoming only the fourth Mule to break 9 seconds. He was the top Division III finisher, coming in 19th overall.
• Junior
Christopher Short improved his personal best in the 60 meters from 7.29 to 7.22, entering the performance list in 10th place. In an event in which he holds the school record, Short won his heat of the 200, coming in ninth overall and third among Division III runners.
• Junior
David Seel, returning to competition after studying abroad last semester, placed seventh overall and second among Division III competitors in the mile.
• Junior
Maya Richwine, who also
studied abroad in the fall, knocked down her personal best in the 60 meters from 8.15 to 8.12, inching closer to the 13-year-old school record of 8.00. She was the second Division III runner across the finish line (12th overall).
• Senior
Niki Matthews posted Muhlenberg's top overall finish, placing third in the long jump with a personal-best-tying mark of 17-0.
• Sophomore
Molly Curtis set an indoor personal best of 33-3¾ while finishing seventh in the triple jump.
• Junior
Maggie Holderith (pictured above right) was fourth in the 5000 meters, lowering her personal best by more than 27 seconds to 19:46.98.
• Juniors
Ella Borello (eighth) and
Ava Lundy (10th) both finished in the top half of the field in their first collegiate indoor 3000 races.
