A series of quick pins by the Muhlenberg women's wrestling team capped a full day of competition at the Ursinus Duals.

The Mules (3-5) began the day with a 42-6 loss to Lock Haven, which is 16th in The Open Mat team dual rankings. After a 39-9 loss to Felician, a team with eight regionally ranked wrestlers, Muhlenberg finished with a history-making 35-5 defeat of Delaware Valley.

The 35 points were the most in a dual match in the two-year history of the program, topping the 34 set earlier this season against Centenary. The Mules also set a school record with five pins in the match.

The last four of those pins came in the final four bouts, with three of them recorded in the first minute. After freshman Gabrielle Roberts flattened her 145-pound opponent in a relatively slow 1:31, the next three pins were by sophomore Kelsey Gelb at 160 in 23 seconds, freshman Gelia Brutus at 180 in 33 seconds, and sophomore Karla Lazaro (pictured above) at 207 in 37 seconds.

Gelb's pin was the 19th of her career and only four seconds off her fastest. Brutus beat her previous fastest pin (1:40) by more than a minute and leads the team with six falls this season.

Sophomore Alessandra Rodriguez also notched a pin against Delaware Valley, erasing a 6-2 deficit with a takedown and pin in the second period.

Freshman Sylvyn Parham went 3-0 on the day to improve her season record to 14-2, recording the Mules' lone win against Lock Haven to go along with a pair of forfeit wins. Parham trailed her opponent 5-0 before coming back to pin her in the closing seconds of the first period.

Gelb came back after a long layoff due to injury to win two bouts, recording a 7-0 decision against Felician.
