Senior Anna May and junior Megan Stairs have been announced as the captains of the 2025 Muhlenberg women's soccer team. They will be tasked with heading a youthful Mules squad, as May is one of just three seniors on a team that added 12 newcomers.Â
May is coming off a 2024 in which she tied for the team lead in points with nine and paced Muhlenberg in assists for the second straight season with three. Of her three goals, none were more impactful than her first of the season; that tally came in the second half of the team's comeback 2-1 victory over FDU-Florham.Â
In her first season as the starting goalkeeper, Stairs totaled 160 saves to lead the Centennial Conference, a number 70 more than second place. All that volume didn't affect her percentages, as she saved 81.6% of her chances to rank fourth in the conference. The goalie has already moved into eighth place in program history in total saves and could move into the top five this season.Â
The pair were also members of the 2024 Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. May and Stairs will lead the Mules into battle when they open the 2025 season with a home back-to-back. First, they host Elizabethtown at 4 p.m. on August 29 before taking on Coast Guard at 2 p.m. the next day.
