Summer Check-In: Luca Pallagrosi

Muhlenberg athletes are spending the summer of 2025 enjoying fantastic experiences on campus, in their hometowns, and across the country.

Rising junior men's lacrosse player Luca Pallagrosi, a finance major, is applying the knowledge he's gained at Muhlenberg in a real-world setting this summer, interning in wealth management for Morgan Stanley.

This summer, I have been interning at Morgan Stanley in their Wealth Management division, specifically with the Burrows-Strzelecki Group in Garden City, New York. It has been an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial services industry.

As I explore various paths within finance, this internship has given me a clearer idea of what a future in wealth management could look like. Every day brings a new chance to learn about markets, client relationships, and how financial advisors help people achieve their long-term goals.

I chose this internship because I wanted to step outside the classroom and get firsthand exposure to the fast-paced world of finance. After taking finance courses at Muhlenberg, I was eager to apply that knowledge in a real-world setting. Morgan Stanley's internship program offered a structured and supportive environment where I could grow professionally while making meaningful contributions to a team.

One of the most rewarding and memorable parts of the internship has been the mentorship and exposure I have received from professionals in the office. Many have shared their career paths and offered advice, often reflecting on their own time as interns. This has made me feel welcomed and supported.

I have also had the chance to sit in on client meetings and attend special sessions where Morgan Stanley professionals and their clients speak directly to us interns. Hearing successful clients share their life experiences, career journeys, and financial decisions has been incredibly eye-opening. These conversations go beyond finance; they provide real insight into how people build meaningful lives, face challenges, and create lasting relationships. It's the kind of perspective you can't get from a textbook, and it has made the internship feel personal and inspiring. It has also helped me see how important communication skills and relationship-building are in this field.

I am especially grateful for the preparation I received at Muhlenberg. My classes gave me a solid foundation for understanding finance, while my professors encouraged critical thinking and clear communication — skills I use every day at my internship. It has also been inspiring to work alongside and connect with two Muhlenberg alumni, Benjamin Cahn '08 and Marijane Uehlinger '86, who I met this summer. Seeing their success and their willingness to mentor current students like me has made this experience even more meaningful.

Overall, this internship has been a defining part of my summer. It has provided clarity, confidence, and a broader view of the financial world. I look forward to bringing these lessons back to campus.
