The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team and two of its players received academic recognition from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
The Mules received the Team All-Academic Award, which recognizes teams with GPAs of 3.0 or higher. Muhlenberg had a tremendous year in the classroom, placing 24 members on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Two recent graduates,
Matthew Hochegger '25 and
Brendan Lavarra '25, were named USILA Scholar All-Americans. A Scholar All-American must be nominated by his coach and be a student with a senior year academic standing. He must have behaved in a manner that has brought credit to himself, his institution and to college lacrosse both on and off the field. He must also be an All-American, a member of a North/South team or an outstanding league or conference player.

Hochegger, a defensive midfielder, led Muhlenberg with 61 ground balls. He also caused 13 turnovers and scored four goals. Hochegger ended his career with 131 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers.
Lavarra recovered from an early injury to lead the Mules with 26 caused turnovers. He also picked up 49 ground balls to rank third on the team. In only two years as a starter, Lavarra ended his career as the Mules' all-time leader with 69 career caused turnovers, adding 101 ground balls.
Muhlenberg ended the 2025 season with a 10-9 record, reaching double figures in wins for the third consecutive season. The Mules earned a playoff berth for the fourth straight year and advanced to the semifinals after defeating Franklin & Marshall for their first CC playoff win ever. Along the way, they set school record for goals (223) and assists (145) in a season.
