Three Earn All-America in Men's Lacrosse

Three Muhlenberg players, all repeat selections, earned honorable mention on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-America team.

Rising junior midfielder Jack Bill, defender Brendan Lavarra '25, and defensive midfielder Matthew Hochegger '25 (pictured left to right above) were all recognized for the second consecutive year. This marks the third time in the last four seasons that the Mules have had at least three players earn All-America recognition. At least one Mule has been named an All-American every season since 2019.

Additionally, Lavarra was selected to play in the USILA Division III Senior All-Star Game, scheduled for Friday, May 23, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Bill, a first-team All-Centennial Conference selection for the second straight year, led Muhlenberg with 37 goals. He recorded seven hat tricks, one short of the school record, including a season-high five goals in Muhlenberg's first CC playoff win ever, an 11-10 defeat of Franklin & Marshall. Bill set a school record for most total goals as a freshman and sophomore (77) and is already tied for seventh on the program's all-time list in career goals.

Lavarra recovered from an early injury to lead the Mules with 26 caused turnovers. He also picked up 49 ground balls to rank third on the team. In only two years as a starter, Lavarra ended his career as the Mules' all-time leader with 69 career caused turnovers, adding 101 ground balls.

Hochegger, who also was a USILA preseason All-America pick, led the Mules with 61 ground balls. He also caused 13 turnovers and scored four goals. Hochegger ended his career with 131 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers.

Muhlenberg ended the 2025 season with a 10-9 record, reaching double figures in wins for the third consecutive season. The Mules earned a playoff berth for the fourth straight year and advanced to the semifinals after defeating Franklin & Marshall for their first CC playoff win ever. Along the way, they set school record for goals (223) and assists (145) in a season.
