David Seel of the Muhlenberg men's track and field team broke one of the oldest records in the book at the Widener Final Qualifier.
Seel
(pictured above) ran the 800 in 1:50.97, topping the previous mark of 1:51.04 that had stood since 2003. The time is the ninth-best in Centennial Conference history, and through the weekend only 23 Division III runners had posted a better clocking this season. Seel finished ninth - sixth among collegiate runners - in the race.
Seel, who now owns the school record in the 800 both indoors and outdoors, was one of five Mules to compete in last-chance meets Friday and Monday.
