Members of the Muhlenberg track and field teams turned in strong performances in chilly weather at both Bucknell and DeSales.
Sophomores
David Seel and
Raam Ravishankar both ran personal bests the 800 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Seel, who was already in fifth place on the all-time performance list, lowered his best time from 1:53.42 to 1:53.23, while Ravishankar (pictured above left) entered the performance list in ninth place by running 1:54.97. Both placed in the top 40 in a field of more than 140 runners, many from Division I and Division II.
At DeSales, the Mule women's team got second-place performances from freshmen
Ella Sarnitsky in the pole vault and
Caitlyn D'Addieco in the discus. Sarnitsky
(pictured above right) entered the performance list in eighth place at 8-9¾, while D'Addieco (ninth, 88-1) and classmate
Kelly Stephen (seventh, 98-4) made the performance list in the hammer.
Five Muhlenberg runners finished in the top six in the 1500: junior
Jem Berney (third), sophomore
Ava Lundy (fifth) and senior
Natasha Furyk (sixth) for the women and juniors
Matthew Hajel (fourth) and
Andrew Smolowitz (sixth) for the men.
Junior
Mike Powel was the top placer for the men, coming in third in the shot put.
