The Muhlenberg women's wrestling split eight contested bouts against Cedar Crest in its first home dual match of the season.
Cedar Crest had a 14-13 edge in team scoring in contested bouts and picked up four forfeits to win, 34-13.
Freshman
Sylvyn Parham was impressive at 110 in her home debut, recording a technical fall in the final 30 seconds of the first period. Parham
(pictured above) finished in style, lifting her opponent up and carrying her around the mat before final dropping her down for the final takedown of the 10-0 win.
Freshman
Gabrielle Roberts (138) came back to pin a Falcon wrestler who was coming off a third-place finish at the Millersville Open. Roberts scored a takedown in the final seconds of the first period to take a 3-2 lead but trailed 6-3 in the second before flattening her opponent.
Like her classmate Parham,
Riley Lynch notched a 10-0 technical fall in the first period, forcing her opponent out of the circle four times to go along with three takedowns at 145.
In the first contested bout of her career, freshman
Val Sanchez pinned her opponent late in the first period of an exhibition match.
Sophomore
Karla Lazaro wrestled a back-and-forth bout at 160 against a Cedar Crest wrestler who placed third at Millersville. Trailing 6-4 at one point, Lazaro scored the next eight points to take a 12-6 lead before eventually getting pinned.
