The Muhlenberg women's wrestling team enjoyed a strong day at the Wilkes Open, with six of the seven Mule competitors winning at least one bout and four winning more than one.

Leading the way was freshman Sylvyn Parham, who went 3-2 at 110 and came within one win of reaching the third-place bout. Her two losses were to the top two seeds, including a Wyoming Seminary opponent who won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Championships. Parham took the lead in that bout with an early takedown before losing, 12-2.

Parham's three wins came on a pair of technical falls, both in the first period, and her first career pin. She did not give up a point in any of her three wins.

Winning a pair of bouts each were freshmen Gabrielle Roberts (138), Riley Lynch (145), and Gelia Brutus (180).

Roberts (pictured above) was competitive in her first three bouts, dropping a 14-12 decision to the sixth seed in her back-and-forth first bout before winning on a pin and a 16-10 decision in which she scored the final 10 points. 

Lynch went into the second period in all four of her bouts and came from down 10-5 in the second to pin an opponent from McDaniel in her first consolation contest. She also scored the winning points in the second period in a 7-4 decision against Utica.

Brutus recorded both of her wins by fall in the first period.
