One school record tied and two others nearly matched highlighted a strong performance by the Muhlenberg track and field teams at their home indoor meet.
Sophomore
Avery McNulty won the high jump with a height of 5-5. That tied the oldest women's school record in the book, set in 2001 by Katrina Beck, whose high school record at Scranton Prep was broken by McNulty.Â
McNulty's mark is the 11th-best in Division III so far this season and is tied for third on the Centennial Conference all-time performance list, just an inch and a half from the record.Â
Freshman
Maya Richwine won the hurdles for the second straight week, finishing in 8.52 seconds, narrowly missing the school record of 8.47. She also placed second in the 400. Senior
Sam McDonough ran uncontested in the men's hurdles but still put up an outstanding time of 8.09 seconds, tying for the second-fastest in program history.Â
Other event winners for the Mules were sophomore
Shira Gamson in the triple jump, freshman
Justin Hoffman in the 800, freshman
Maxwell Broadbent in the triple jump and sophomore
Mike Powel in the shot put. Broadbent topped his previous season best by almost two feet, moving from 10th to sixth on the Muhlenberg all-time performance list.
Senior
JJ Ramirez-Rojas (long jump) and freshman
Bryce Rhodeman (high jump) were the top collegiate finishers in their events. Rhodeman also posted the sixth-fastest 55 time in program history, while freshman
Isaac Schaffer-Neitz had the seventh fastest.
Competing in an event other than the javelin for the first time in his Mule career, two-time Centennial Conference champion
Noel House qualifed for the final in the 55 meters, placing sixth.
Freshman
Kaitlyn Legaspi cleared 8-6¼ in the pole vault, entering the all-time performance list in a tie for ninth place.Â
