Men's Lacrosse Earns National Ranking

For the first time in program history, the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team is ranked in the top 20 in Division III.

The Mules are ranked No. 14 by Inside Lacrosse and No. 18 by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Ironically, Muhlenberg entered the top 20 following a loss, but it wasn't just any loss. The Mules opened the 2023 season by taking two-time defending national champion RIT to triple-overtime before falling, 10-9. The Mules led 4-1 after one quarter and erased a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime, outscoring the Tigers 9-2 in the first, third and fourth quarters. RIT, which is 37-1 since the start of the 2021 season, hadn't been held to single digits in goals in regulation since 2018.

Muhlenberg is joined in the top 20 in both polls by three other Centennial Conference teams - Gettysburg, Dickinson and Ursinus. A fifth CC team, Franklin & Marshall, is receiving votes in the USILA poll.

Additionally, future Mule opponents St. John Fisher (ranked in both polls), Rensselaer and Stockton (receiving votes in the USILA poll) are earning national recognition.

The Mules received votes in the USILA poll in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022, finishing four spots outside the top 20 in 2021.
