Postcards from Abroad catches up with Muhlenberg men's lacrosse junior Ethan Grossman, a business administration major with a concentration in marketing, studying in Maastricht, Netherlands, this semester.

What classes are you taking? Which class is your favorite?
For the first block of classes, I am taking Leadership and Management in a Global World and Managing Diversity. I really enjoyed the Leadership and Management in a Global World class because it has given me a whole new perspective on what it is like to be a leader.

Have you been able to travel at all yet?
I have been able to travel to Berlin, Munich (for Oktoberfest), Malta, Amsterdam, Cologne and The Hague. I plan to travel to London this upcoming weekend.

What has been the overall hardest adjustment?
The hardest overall adjustment for me has been going grocery shopping because all the food is labeled in Dutch and I have to Google Translate everything.

What made you decide to study abroad?
I chose to study abroad because, personally, I think the best time to travel around Europe is when you're with your friends from college.

How have you been training while abroad?
I have been training five days a week, including going to the gym and physical therapy three days a week. I want to make sure I'll be ready to play this season following my ACL reconstruction surgery.

What have you learned about yourself while studying abroad?
I have learned to be way more independent while studying abroad. I can normally just go to the dining hall, but now I have to go out and buy food for the week.

Any messages for your teammates back home?
Keeping working hard throughout this offseason and be ready to make a run in the Centennial playoffs. (Also, Joey Goret, please stretch!)
