Linda Andrews Retires After 35 Years

The summer of 2017 marks the end of an era at Muhlenberg as Linda Andrews retires after 35 years at the College.

Andrews came to Muhlenberg in 1982 to serve as women's tennis coach and aquatics director. And it was as women's tennis coach that she enjoyed her greatest success, compiling 223 wins and winning nine MAC Northeast division championships and two Centennial Conference titles.

Andrews coached the program's first All-American in Amy Schmidt (2005 and 2006), led the Mules to their first NCAA Tournament berth in 2005 and was named CC coach of the year in 2011.

Many of her former players contributed to a video honoring her career and retirement.

Meghan Olsen, a sophomore on Andrews' final team, summed it up best when she said, "On behalf of all of us here - we love you, you're an amazing coach and we will never forget you. We wish you the best of luck in your retirement."

Andrews also served as head coach of the men's and women's cross country teams from 1990 to 2004 and was assistant volleyball coach for a short time. Additionally, she was coordinator of the physical education curriculum, director of the Wellness Institute and College Marshal.
