• Was a three-year starter at quarterback for the football team, compiling a 21-9 record and leading the Mules to a share of the 1986 Centennial Conference championship
• At the time of graduation, held school records for completions (383), yards (4,549) and passing touchdowns (42) in a career as well as yards (1899) and passing touchdowns (19) in a season
• Co-captain of the 1988 team
• Earned All-CC honors in two of his three years as a starter, including first-team laurels as a senior
