The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team is ranked 23rd in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III poll.
The Mules (9-1) made their season debut in the rankings after
defeating The College of New Jersey, then ranked No. 14 and now ranked No. 18, last week. Muhlenberg also played ninth-ranked Gettysburg last week, suffering their first loss of the season by a 13-8 score.
The national ranking is the first for the program since the 2017 season, when Muhlenberg landed at No. 2 after a defeat of top-ranked Gettysburg.
The Mules, who are 2-1 against teams ranked ahead of them, including a 13-11 win at 15th-ranked Rowan, are one of four Centennial Conference teams to appear in the poll. In addition to Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall is ranked 19th, and Haverford, which has been ranked as high as 18th this season, is receiving votes. Muhlenberg is scheduled to play Haverford at home on Wednesday, April 15, and Franklin & Marshall at home in the regular-season finale on Saturday, April 25.
Muhlenberg set a school record for consecutive wins in a season with its 9-0 start and is 9-1 for the first time in program history. With one more win, the Mules will reach double digits for the fifth consecutive season.
Last year, Muhlenberg set a school record with 14 wins and won a CC playoff game for the first time in its history.
