In its first tournament of the spring, the Muhlenberg men's golf team finished fourth at the DeSales Spring Classic.

The Mules were in fifth place after the first round with a score of 330 but lowered their score to 316 on the second day of the tournament to leapfrog host DeSales. The 14-stroke improvement was the best for the Mules from the first to second round of a tournament since the 2023 Centennial Conference Championships.

Senior Alex McCauley led Muhlenberg and came in fifth overall with a 36-hole score of 155. He shot four birdies during the tournament, including one on the longest hole on the course, the 550-yard eighth hole, in the first round. McCauley shot even par on the back nine in the second round.

Senior Charlie Kerprich tied for eighth, two strokes behind McCauley. He posted the third-lowest score, a 76, in the second round, at one point making three birdies in a span of five holes (10, 11 and 14).

Senior Conor Mahoney improved by three strokes, from 85 to 82, in the second round. He was within one of par on 16 of 18 holes in both rounds, shooting a birdie on 16 on the second day. 

Junior Ryan Tasetano (pictured above) was one over par on the back nine in the second round, when he shot an 81. Three of his four birdies in the tournament came on par-5 holes.

Sophomore Justin Edwards lowered his scored by six strokes on the second day, notching a birdie on the fourth hole.
