Men's Tennis

Tennis Teams Sweep Again

The Muhlenberg tennis teams competed together on the road for the fifth time this spring, and for the fifth time, both won.

The men defeated Arcadia, 6-1, to improve their record for the year to 6-3. The women swept, 7-0, to run their record to 7-2. The seven wins match the most for the Mules since the 2013-14 team went 8-7.

Although the men's team swept the doubles, the No. 1 and No. 2 matches were extremely close, with Muhlenberg winning 7-5 in both. The top two singles matches were also close; junior William Rose needed a third set to win at No. 2.

The Mules rolled at the third through sixth singles spots, however. The four Muhlenberg players lost a total of only six games, and each recorded at least one 6-0 set, including junior Matt Miller (pictured above) at No. 3.

Miller also contributed to the 7-5 win at first singles - the 50th career win for junior Owen Dyer.

The women's match followed a similar script, as third through sixth singles - including junior Taylor Current (pictured above) at No. 5 - lost only six games.

Freshman Sydney Madlock came back after dropping her first set at No. 1 singles to win in three.

Senior Kety Gaidamashvili did not lose a game in either of her matches, combining with junior Charley Madlock for a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles and sweeping at No. 4 singles.
