Four to Captain Women's Lacrosse Team

Four seniors have been selected as captains of the 2026 Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team.

Named to lead the Mules this spring were (pictured left to right above) Lauren Cherven, Annalisa Bio, Abba Diglio, and Meaghan Haughney.

Cherven has been a regular on Muhlenberg's attack each of the last three seasons, playing in 34 games. She has scored 21 goals in her career, with 12 of them coming on four hat tricks. Cherven scored a postseason goal against nationally ranked Franklin & Marshall last year.

Bio enjoyed a breakout season in 2025, setting career highs in every category. She played in all 19 of the Mules' games, starting three, and scored 10 goals. Among Bio's goals were her first career hat trick on only four shots in a win against Montclair State and a pair in a playoff win vs. Ursinus.

Diglio, who also was a co-captain of the Muhlenberg field hockey team in the fall, is the first athlete to captain both field hockey and lacrosse since the 2014-15 year. She has played in all 53 Muhlenberg women's lacrosse games since the start of her career, starting 50 of them, and earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention last year. Diglio leads all active Mules with her career totals of 82 ground balls, 44 caused turnovers, and 178 draw controls, with the latter number ranking sixth on the program's all-time list.

Haughney has been the Mules' No. 2 goalie for most of her career and is the most experienced keeper on the squad. She started the last six games of her freshman season, averaging 9.0 saves per game and setting a school record for the postseason by making 17 saves against Haverford. Haughney brings a 11.50 goals-against average and .402 save percentage in 33 career games into the 2026 season.

The Mules, who are scheduled to open their season at home against Moravian on Wednesday, February 18, are coming off a banner 2025 campaign in which they went 14-5, setting a school record for wins, and recorded the first CC playoff win in program history with a 16-8 home defeat of Ursinus. All five of the Mules' losses were to nationally ranked teams, and they were in the running for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
