Junior
Kelsey Gelb and sophomore
Sylvyn Parham were selected as captains of the 2026-27 Muhlenberg women's wrestling team.
Gelb, who is third at 160 in the Region 2 preseason rankings, is the Mules' all-time leader in wins and pins. She finished with a 13-8 record, which included a team-leading 10 pins, in an injury-marred sophomore season. Gelb was a national qualifier in 2024-25, the first year of the Mule women's wrestling program, when she recorded 21 wins, of which 16 were pins.Â
Parham earned a national preseason ranking of 10th at 110 after going 25-7 and qualifying for the first-ever NCAA Championships in women's wrestling last winter. Of her 25 wins, 14 came by technical superiority. Parham was ranked as high as 14th in the country last winter and defeated a nationally ranked Ursinus wrestler on criteria in the regional consolation final to earn her ticket to the national meet.
Muhlenberg is scheduled to open its third varsity season at the Green Terror Invitational on Sunday.
