After recording a pair of double-doubles and stifling the opposition on the other end, Muhlenberg men's basketball junior
Peter Stanton-Shepherd has been named the latest Centennial Conference player of the week.
The lanky forward got hot early on against Washington College on January 17, scoring eight points in the first six minutes to give the Mules an early advantage that they never relinquished. He would go on to finish with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 72-60 Muhlenberg win, combining with teammate
Jack Woodard to become the first Mules to record a double-double in the same game since 2013. A few days prior, Stanton-Shepherd scored 18 points on 7-of-12 from the field to go with 10 rebounds for another set of double digit performances.
For the week, Stanton-Shepherd averaged 16 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 52% to go with a blistering 55.6% mark from three-point territory.
It is the first time in his career that the junior has earned the honor. Stanton-Shepherd and the rest of the Mules return to action tomorrow, January 21 at home against Ursinus at 6 p.m.
