The Muhlenberg Mules traveled to Collegeville to take on the Ursinus Bears and fell by a score of 84-59 Wednesday evening.
A slow end to the first half and an even slower start to the second half sunk the Mules' chances at grabbing a win over the Bears. Between the 7:14 mark of the first and the 10-minute mark of the second, the visitors were outscored 39-18. Much of that was due to the hosts shooting 16-of-24 (66.7%) from the field during that stretch.
Liam Gorman came off the bench and poured in a team-high 18 points on 6-of-9 from beyond the arc in addition to nabbing three steals. It is a career-best for the junior in scoring, topping his previous high of 15 against Emmanuel on December 30, 2025. Senior guard
Nate Hoffman also had an efficient night, scoring nine points on just four shots.
While the Mules fall to 5-7 in conference play, the outcome of this game had no effect on the Centennial Conference playoff race. With a win on Saturday against McDaniel, Muhlenberg will overtake the Green Terror in the standings for that sixth and final playoff spot.
