A birdie by sophomore Malaika Jha highlighted the opening tournament of the year for the Muhlenberg women's golf team.

Jha wound up tying for 11th place with a score of 89, seven strokes better than her low round from last year. Her birdie came on the 344-yard, par-4 fifth hole at Northampton Country Club. On her second shot, Jha hit a 7-wood to within nine feet of the hole and sank the putt for the birdie.

Jha (pictured above) also made par on five holes.  

Senior Alyssa Goldsmith hit par on the 16th hole and finished with a 132, nine strokes better than senior Leeanna Zagrodnik.
