The Muhlenberg women's cross country team came in ninth, while the men finished 10th, at Haverford's Main Line Invitational.
Squads from Division I and Division II made up more than half the field in both of the races.
The women finished 21 points ahead of Bryn Mawr, a team they placed 31 points behind at last year's Centennial Conference Championships.
Muhlenberg's top finisher, senior
Jem Berney, was one place behind Bryn Mawr's top runner, but the Mules' second through fifth runners - juniors
Maggie Holderith (pictured above left),
Ava Lundy, and
Ella Borello and freshman
Ava Azzinnari - all came in three to seven places ahead of their Owl counterparts.
The top two finishers for the men, seniors
Matthew Hajel and
Andrew Smolowitz, both improved on their top times on the 4-mile course. Hajel crossed the finish line in 21:02.1, a huge jump from the 22:41.5 he ran at the same meet in 2022, while Smolowitz
(pictured above right) cut his time from 23:33.8 to 22:48.8.
Sophomore
Jake Restivo, who had been injured, made his debut for the Mules by finishing the race.
