Both top runners posted strong times when the Muhlenberg cross country teams opened up their 2025 season at the Lehigh Invitational.
The women were led by senior
Jem Berney, who finished seventh among Division III runners with a time of 24:59.6 - a big improvement on her 26:03.5 clocking the last time they ran on Lehigh's course.
Junior
Ava Lundy (pictured above left) was the Mules' second finisher with a personal-best time of 25:42.5, more than a minute faster than her mark (26:47.5) in the same meet last year. Her previous best was 25:45.9.

Maggie Holderith and
Ella Borello and freshman
Ava Azzinnari rounded out Muhlenberg's top five.Â
Senior
Matthew Hajel was one of three Muhlenberg men to line up, and he set a huge PR of 19:04.3 in his first race since 2023 after studying abroad last fall. Hajel's previous best 6K time was 20:17.3. He finished seventh among Division III competitors and 38th of 96 overall in a meet that included four Division I schools.Â
