Summer Check-In: William Rose

Muhlenberg athletes are spending the summer of 2025 enjoying fantastic experiences on campus, in their hometowns, and across the country.

For the second straight summer, junior men's tennis player William Rose, a double major in business administration and political science, interned at an insurance brokerage for nonprofit and human service organizations.

I have spent the last two summers interning for Signers National, an insurance brokerage that focuses on providing coverage to nonprofit and human services organizations. I interned with the mergers & acquisitions team at Signers.

Through working in mergers & acquisitions, I learned about the process of acquiring another company's book of business and integrating it into the existing workflow. This work was heavily focused on Excel spreadsheets, allowing me to fine tune my skills and expand my grasp of the many formulas that make Excel such a useful business tool.

The ABEF (accounting, business, economics, and finance) classes I have taken at Muhlenberg have prepared me to succeed  in my internship. The course on Business and Society was particularly helpful, as it taught me the basics of the business world and how it operates.

What I learned over the summer will help me as I continue to take business administration courses at Muhlenberg. My experience last summer helped me when I returned to school, because it allowed me to understand how the material could apply in a career.

I have really appreciated the experience of working in an office. I worked in person Monday-Friday, which was something I really enjoyed since the office is an environment that promotes a strong work ethic. Being in-person allowed me to not only learn from my colleagues, but also to develop a strong bond with the people at Signers. The past two summers gave me time to build strong relationships and connections with people that I know I can always count on to be a helping hand.

I am extremely grateful for my time at Signers National and look forward to seeing how the knowledge I gained benefits me in college and beyond.
