The Muhlenberg men's tennis team closed out a successful season with a 6-1 win against Dickinson in a match that started on Friday and was completed on Sunday.
The Mules finished the season with a record of 11-7 for the second-most wins in program history; only the 1941 squad (16-2) won more. Muhlenberg's two Centennial Conference wins were its most since 2021.
Prior to the match, the Mules honored their two seniors,
Noah Katz and
Isaac Shulman (pictured above with their families). And both played important roles in the win.
The two seniors combined for a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles that clinched the doubles point for Muhlenberg.Â
Sophomores
Owen Dyer (No. 1) and
William Rose (No. 3) breezed to wins in straight sets in their singles matches, giving the Mules a 3-0 lead. The other four matches were on the court Friday evening when rain forced suspension of the contest.
When play resumed on Sunday morning, Shulman was up a set and tied 4-4 in the second set at No. 6 singles. Up 6-5 and 40-30, he closed out the match, and his career, with a forehand winner, clinching the team win for Muhlenberg.Â
