Playing for the third time in four days, the Muhlenberg men's tennis team edged Ursinus, 4-3, for its first Centennial Conference win of the season.

The win also put the Mules (10-6, 1-4) in double digits for the fourth time in program history. The 2000 team (10-4) was the only other Muhlenberg men's tennis squad to win 10 or more in the last 80 years.

The Mules showed their strength at the top of the lineup, winning at the top two doubles spots to earn the doubles point, then prevailing at first through third singles to clinch the match.

The competition was tight in all of Muhlenberg's wins. Sophomores Owen Dyer and William Rose won 7-5 at first doubles after sophomore Matt Miller and freshman Max Gofton pulled out a 6-3 victory at No. 2.

Rose (pictured above) won in straight sets at third singles, but Ursinus took fourth through sixth to take a 3-2 lead. Dyer won 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at first singles to tie it, and two points later Miller secured the win in three sets at No. 2.

In their first two matches of the holiday weekend, the Mules faced tough opponents in Division II Kutztown and Division III 16th-ranked Haverford. Miller played close matches at both doubles and singles vs. Kutztown, and Dyer hung tough in a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Haverford's No. 1.
