Muhlenberg graduate student Dan Gaines was selected to play in the 2023 NABC – Reese's Division III College All-Star Game.

The Division III All-Star Game is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 18, at noon at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. The game features the top senior talent across Division III and includes representation from each Division III region.

Gaines will play for Team Hixon, coached by former Amherst coach David Hixon, who spent 42 years as the head coach at Amherst, where he won 826 games – the third most in Division III history – and captured national titles in 2007 and 2013. While at Amherst, Hixon coached current Mule head coach Kevin Hopkins.

Gaines, the first Mule ever selected for the Division III All-Star Game, recently finished a tremendous career at Muhlenberg by earning All-Centennial Conference honors for the fourth time, making the first team. He averaged 16.2 points per game (16.2) in 2022-23, scoring at least 20 points in a game 11 times, including a 35-point effort at Franklin & Marshall. He finished his career in the top 10 on Muhlenberg's all-time lists in points (ninth with 1,459), assists (third with 362), three-pointers (fifth with 146) and steals (seventh with 123).
