Muhlenberg senior athletes typically submit Q&A profiles that appear in their Senior Day game programs. Since some teams did not have Senior Days in 2020-21 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and attendance was limited for the ones that did happen, we will run them all on muhlenbergsports.com, one sport at a time. Following is a sampling of the full senior profiles for the women's soccer team.
What is your favorite Muhlenberg soccer memory? My favorite Muhlenberg soccer memory is my junior year when we didn't lose a home game. It is something we took pride in and was a great accomplishment for us. -
Hannah Merlo
What are your future plans? Currently applying to physician assistant schools for the Fall of 2022. During my gap year I will be working as a dermatology medical assistant at Lakes Skin Centre in Franklin Lakes, N.J. -
Danielle Strashinsky
I will be attending law school at Seton Hall University in the fall. -
Alex Franchino
What are some of the life lessons soccer has taught you? You could work as hard as you can on your own, but unless you help those around you as well, your team won't get better. There's no "I"in team. -
Cortney Blake
Soccer has taught me that although it may be hard at times, dedication to something you love doing is worth the reward in the long run. -
Julianna King
Why did you choose Muhlenberg? I chose Muhlenberg for a number of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is the feeling I got the first time I visited campus my junior year of high school. I got out of the car and told my parents that this was where I was going to school because it just felt like home. I was also drawn to the competitive nature of academics, and the fact that I was able to complete at a high level athletically, but have the balance of a normal college life. -
Kayla Klarides
With the opportunity to pursue a future career in medicine and continue to play the sport that I love, I ultimately decided to attend Muhlenberg College. Along with its beautiful campus, Muhlenberg has a well-respected pre-medical program and biology department. -
Carly Shaffer
How have you grown as a person and a student-athlete from the adversity you've faced this past year? Over the past year, I have learned a lot about myself, what makes me tick and the dreams I have for the future. I have finally found my calling! I plan on being a nurse practitioner with a focus on community outreach, and I can't wait to get started on this next chapter of my life. -
Emily Sigillo
What are you most thankful for? I am most thankful for my teammates and my parents. My team has grown to be a second family to me, and I am so thankful that I was able to spend these last four years with them on and off the field. I know that I have gained lifelong friends, and I am so grateful that we have such great chemistry as a team. I am also thankful for the countless support and love my parents have given me; I would not have had the opportunity to be at Muhlenberg without them. -
