Three Muhlenberg seniors appeared in the Division III preseason rankings by the
National Wrestling Coaches Association and
d3wrestle.com.
Luca Colestock (197) earned national rankings in both polls. He is ranked fifth in Division III by the NWCA and eighth by D3W.
Greg Baum (141) was fourth at 141 in the NWCA Mideast Region rankings, and both he and
Angelo Mahaffey (174) received honorable mention in the d3wrestle.com rankings.
Colestock was the Centennial Conference champion and Mideast Regional runner-up at 197 pounds in 2020. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships and was named a first-team All-American by the NWCA after the national tournament was cancelled.

In his first season as a starter, Colestock compiled a record of 28-1 in contested bouts, with 11 pins, 6 major decisions and 4 technical falls. He was ranked as high as sixth in Division III and won two tournament titles. Colestock's career record through two seasons is 47-8.
Baum went 19-9 and placed fourth at the CC Championships in 2020. He provided one of the top highlights of the season when he pinned a Mount Union opponent who was the top-ranked 141-pounder in Division III at the time and the 2019 national champion at 133. The runner-up at the 2019 Petrofes Invitational, Baum has a career record of 33-18 with 13 pins.
Mahaffey started out the 2019-20 season with a 12-2 record, including a third-place finish at 157 at the Petrofes Invitational, before suffering a season-ending injury. One of his losses came by 5-2 decision to the top-ranked wrestler in Division III. Mahaffey brings a 29-11 career mark into the 2021-22 season.
The Mules, who were picked second in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, are scheduled to begin the new season on Sunday, November 7, with tournaments at Alvernia and East Stroudsburg.
