A four-goal run at the start of the fourth quarter quieted hopes of a Senior Day comeback win as the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team fell to McDaniel, 14-8.

In a pregame ceremony, the Mules honored their 10 seniors - Austin Akner, Conner Burdick, Nick Farmer, Pat Farrell, Michael Heenan, John Hetzel, Jason Mertz, Adam Schlauch, Jon Thomas and Connor Winter.

Thomas scored a goal, Winter assisted on one and Schlauch made four saves in the third quarter to send the Mules, who had trailed by four at one point, into the final period down 8-6. But the Green Terror (7-5, 4-2) netted four goals in the first 5:44 of the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Thomas, junior Steven Casella and sophomore Brad D'Alessandro each scored a pair of goals for Muhlenberg (3-8, 0-6), while Hetzel notched a pair of assists. Winter picked up a team-high six ground balls to go along with his assist.

Schlauch added 12 saves to his school-record career total.

Freshman Jake Solomon had a big day in the "X," winning 17 of 26 faceoffs against a McDaniel specialist who came in second in the Centennial Conference in faceoff wins. The 17 faceoff wins tied the school record for freshmen, and his 98 wins this season are the fourth-most in program history.
