Muhlenberg junior
Josie Krieman has been named Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball.
Scholar-Athletes of the Year in each sport are presented to a member of the junior or senior class with the highest cumulative GPA on the All-Centennial team.
An American studies major and history minor, Krieman is a key member of the Mules' record-setting pitching staff. She was named to the All-CC second team after going 4-2 with a 2.31 ERA and a pair of saves, holding opponents to one run or fewer in three of her five starts against CC foes. Krieman tossed a five-hit shutout against Ursinus and a four-hit shutout with a season-high seven strikeouts vs. McDaniel.
Krieman's arm helped Muhlenberg set school record for wins, hits, stolen bases, shutouts, and strikeouts in a season and earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Mules' first NCAA game, against Middlebury, was postponed back a day to Friday, May 15, at 10:00.
Krieman is the fourth Muhlenberg athlete to be named a CC Scholar-Athlete of the Year this academic year, joining Erin DiSandro (field hockey), Sam Roberts (men's soccer), and CJ Horvath (men's wrestling).
